The Ides of March

March sure did come and go quickly.

March sure did come and go quickly. Maybe it’s because we are finally settled into 2021? Or maybe it’s because we are now one year into COVID? Who knows. Regardless, we are here to fill you in on all the happenings of the month.

Grammy Awards

After being postponed in January, The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards were finally held on Sunday, March 14—and the ceremony did not disappoint. History was made with Beyoncé becoming the most Grammy-winning female artist ever and earning more awards than any performer—male or female. In addition, Taylor Swift became the first female to win Album of the Year three times. The night belonged to women as female musicians dominated by winning in nearly every category (with a few notable exceptions). From Megan Thee Stallion, Dua Lipa, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, H.E.R, Lady Gaga, and many others, the Grammys proved that women ruled the music industry in 2020.

March Madness

Have you filled out your brackets and placed your bets? March Madness has officially returned after being cancelled last year due to the pandemic. It’s safe to say that the country and the ANDERSON Team are very excited to see such a cultural phenomenon come back. Not to mention—the ratings for March Madness have been through the roof!! Whoever is in your final four, we wish you all the luck!

Oscar Nominations

The nominations for the 93rd Annual Academy Awards were announced on March 15. It feels somewhat weird to see films being celebrated when the entire movie industry was disrupted thanks to the pandemic. Still, “Oscar Season” is no joke and we are thrilled for all the nominees. Streaming mogul Netflix walked away with over 35 nominations for films that were released on its platform during 2020. To see all the nominees, click here. We are looking forward to seeing the celebrities walk the red carpet and watching the ceremony on April 25!

Women’s History Month

March is Women’s History Month—an entire month dedicated to highlighting the contributions of women in history and contemporary society. Social media platforms like TikTok and Facebook have announced new features for the month to highlight and amplify female voices across the world. Team ANDERSON is grateful for all the contributions women have made and continue to make in our society.

Here’s to April

March definitely felt like a “return to normal” in some capacity as we saw many of our favorite events come back (thanks to the continued increase in vaccine availability). Maybe we won’t have to quarantine for much longer—we can only hope! Here’s to April and continuing on an upward path!
