1989 (Taylor’s Version) – Announcement
On August 9—the last show of the first leg of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in the US—the pop star announced her upcoming fourth re-recorded album, 1989. The re-recorded version is set to be released on Friday, October 27, which is exactly nine years after the original release of the album.

Fourth Indictment of Former President Donald J. Trump
Former President Trump was indicted for a fourth time in the state of Georgia after the Fulton County DA investigated Trump’s conduct following the 2020 election and his infamous phone call to the Georgia Secretary of State. A grand jury oversaw the evidence presented by the DA and returned an indictment against Trump and 18 allies on charges including election fraud, racketeering, and other crimes related to his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

India Becomes Fourth Country to Land on Moon
On Wednesday, August 23, India joined the United States, Russia, and China as one of only four countries to land a spacecraft on the moon. With this historic landing, India became the first country to land a spacecraft near the moon’s south pole. This successful mission highlights India’s rising status in technological and space travel advances as the country tries to place itself among the global elite.

Fall Arrives Early at Starbucks
To all those who enjoy Pumpkin Spice, your time has come. On Thursday, August 24, Starbucks launched its Fall Menu (29 days away from the actual first day of fall). In addition to the beloved Pumpkin Spice, other favorites also returned: Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew and Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato. New additions to this year’s menu include the Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai Tea Latte and the Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso.
