It’s the end of the month and you know what that means…another monthly recap of all the things!

American Music Awards

November brought us another award show, which just so happened to be focused on music again—and could be considered a pre-Grammy ceremony. The 2020 American Music Awards were held on Sunday, November 22, and recognized the incredible music from this year. Some of the performers included Billie Eilish, Megan Thee Stallion, Katy Perry, Dua Lipa, and more. Among the big winners were Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Dan+Shay, and Justin Bieber.

Election

Well, at least it’s over! On Saturday, November 7, 2020, major news outlets projected Joseph R. Biden Jr. and Senator Kamala Harris to be the next President and Vice President of the United States, thus drawing to a close what certainly the longest week of the year (or possibly in history).

Half-Time Show Performer Announced

On Thursday, November 12, Pepsi, the NFL, and Rock Nation announced that R&B singer, The Weeknd, will be the Pepsi Super Bowl LV Halftime Show Performer. The Weeknd will perform on the nation’s largest stage for millions of viewers on February 7 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL. In response to the announcement, The Weeknd said in a press release, “We all grow up watching the world’s biggest acts playing the Super Bowl and one can only dream of being in that position. I’m humbled, honored and ecstatic to be the center of that infamous stage this year.”

World Series

While the MLB season concluded at the end of October, here’s a little reminder since we weren’t able to report it in last month’s recap: The Los Angeles Dodgers won their first World Series Championship since 1988, defeating the Tampa Bay Rays in six games. It’s the team’s seventh championship and came during a season that was shortened to only 60 games due to the pandemic.

What’s To Come In December?

For starters, Mariah Carey’s hit song “All I Want for Christmas Is You” on repeat all month long. Also, Santa Claus, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and (mercifully) the end of 2020. Tune in next month for a final recap of the craziest year to date.
