The Return of Rihanna

At the end of September, the NFL announced its headliner for the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show. After speculations that Taylor Swift was set to headline the big game, the NFL and Apple Music announced that Rihanna would perform at the spectacle. The halftime show marks Rihanna’s return to music since she hasn’t released anything or toured since 2016’s hit album Anti. The artist has been focusing on other business ventures such as Fenty Beauty and Savage X by Fenty.

Halloween Ends – Literally

Over 40 years after the original 1978 film Halloween, Laurie Strode and Michael Meyers have their final face-off in the latest film, Halloween Ends. The film is a sequel to last year’s Halloween Kills and is considered the 13th installment in the film franchise. Reviews were mixed—critical of the focus on new characters and the tease of the final showdown between the two leads.

Midnights

On Friday, October 21, Taylor Swift released her highly anticipated 10th studio album, Midnights. Before its release, she announced the track listing through a series on TikTok titled, “Midnights Mayhem With Me.” On the day its of release, Swift also released seven additional tracks with an extended album titled Midnights (3am Edition). Since then, the album has broken records, including becoming the most streamed album debut on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music, achieving the largest vinyl sales week of the 21st century, becoming the fastest-selling album since her own Reputation in 2017, and is the best-selling album of 2022.

World Series 2022

The Fall Classic is back and will feature the Houston Astros vs. Philadelphia Phillies. The series will be played from October 28–November 5 (if all seven games are needed). This marks the fifth World Series appearance for the Astros and the eighth appearance for the Phillies.
