2021 World Series Champions

On November 3, the Atlanta Braves became World Series champions after defeating the Houston Astros in six games. This became the Braves’ first World Series title since 1995. In addition, this was the third World Series in five years for the Astros, who won the title in 2017.

RED (Taylor’s Version)

RED (Taylor’s Version) dropped on Friday, November 12, as she continues to re-record her first six albums to regain ownership of her masters. This version of the album features nine “vault” tracks that were originally written but scrapped from the 2012 records. Many fans were excited to hear the 10-minute version of a fan-favorite song, “All Too Well,” which was accompanied by a short film. The album broke the record for the most-streamed album in a day by a female and broke the record for the most-streamed female in a day in Spotify history.

Adele’s highly anticipated fourth album 30 was finally released on November 19. The album is inspired by her divorce as it tackles the separation from her ex-husband as well as discussing motherhood and the scrutiny of fame. 30 has received critical acclaim from music critics who have praised its cinematic instrumentals and strong vocal performance. American Music Awards

Sunday, November 21, the music industry gathered together for the 49th Annual American Music Awards to recognize the most popular artists, singles, and albums of 2021. Cardi B hosted the ceremony, becoming only the second female rapper in history to host it (Queen Latifah was the first). Big winners from the night included BTS, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Olivia Rodrigo, and Taylor Swift. Artist of the Year, the most prestigious award of the night, went to BTS.
