Let’s Go DBacks
After defeating the Milwaukee Brewers in the Wild Card Series and the L.A. Dodgers in the National League Divison Series, the Arizona Diamondbacks have defied the odds and are on their way to the World Series following their Game 7 defeat of the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League Championship Series. This season marks the DBacks’ first postseason appearance since 2017 and the first time back in the World Series since 2001—a whopping 22 years ago. The Diamondbacks are set to face the Texas Rangers, who defeated last year’s World Series champs, the Houston Astros. “I’ve said it a million times, and I’ll say it again: A connected team is a very dangerous team,” Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said. “No matter what happened in those times of crisis, these guys stuck together.”

The Eras Tour On The Big Screen
It’s no surprise that Taylor Swift made history at the box office this month. On October 13, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour came out in theaters. Domestic ticket sales topped $96 million on opening weekend—making it the highest-grossing opening ever for a concert film. The film surpassed Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never film release, which garnered $73 million opening weekend. Taylor Swift’s movie even topped The Little Mermaid, which hauled in $95.6 million opening weekend.

100 Years of Walt Disney Animation Studios
October was a special month for The Walt Disney Company as they celebrated their 100th anniversary on Monday, October 16. Throughout the month, Disney had special activations, tie-ins, and moments that commemorated the magic they have made over the last century. The most exciting event was the anticipated short film entitled Once Upon a Studio, which highlighted Disney’s iconic characters coming together in a unique way to take a group photo. The special is now streaming on Disney+.

Britney Spears’ Tell-All Memoir
The Princess of Pop is reclaiming her voice and sharing her story in a new memoir entitled, The Woman in Me. Spears’ book is highly anticipated as it chronicles her journey from child star to pop icon while discussing the highs and lows of her life (including the conservatorship). In an interview with People Magazine, she said she is ready to take back the narrative by stating, “It is finally time for me to raise my voice and speak out, and my fans deserve to hear it directly from me. No more conspiracy, no more lies—just me owning my past, present, and future.”
