Scottsdale-based ANDERSON Advertising & Public Relations is looking to hire a full-time copywriter to its team. We are an upbeat group of problem solvers who genuinely enjoy working together and believe our best work comes from true collaboration.

As an integral part of the creative process, the copywriter works closely with our creative team to create engaging concepts that effectively meet project objectives, reflect marketing strategies and align with client’s goals, brand essence and voice. The copywriter pushes the boundaries of creative excellence, ensuring the highest quality creative output across various mediums (ranging from branding to broadcast, print, outdoor, web, and social, etc). Understands the priorities of the assigned project and can work collaboratively with both creative and account team members.

The ideal candidate must be passionate, energetic, curious and a proactive creative thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic atmosphere.

Job Description

This role supports the creative team by developing concepts and copy across a variety of media and industries.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conceptualize campaigns with creative team
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions
  • Comfortable participating in client-facing strategy sessions
  • Articulately present concepts internally and pitch directly to clients
  • Translate ideas across various media (Broadcast, TV, Radio, Digital, Print, Experiential, Branded Content, Social, etc.) and assist in necessary productions
  • Maintain ownership of internal copy for new business communications, website, and social support
  • Absorb and apply feedback from peers and clients alike
  • Constantly observe the marketplace and bring big ideas to the team
  • Ensure quality control measures are met prior to the release of any work
  • Confident and error-free proofreading and editing for both internal and external work
  • Recommend measures to improve work process methods and quality of product
  • Research to understand client industries, target markets and competitor landscapes, ensuring copy aligns with brand guidelines and objectives

Skills and Abilities Requirements

  • 5+ years of proven experience as a copywriter in an advertising agency or similar creative environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, advertising or a combination of education and creative writing experience
  • Exceptional writing skills with ability to develop creative and original copy
  • A great story-teller with a passion for the process
  • Conceptual and strategic thinker
  • Experience writing across a variety of industries
  • Proactive mindset and the ability to take initiative, solve problems, and deliver exceptional results
  • The desire to work collaboratively with a small team
  • A strong understanding of different marketing tactics and their best practices (print collateral, social media campaigns, radio, TV, email, websites) with their effective use of copy
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, deadline-oriented and reliable
  • Prepared to work in a hybrid environment – both onsite in Scottsdale agency 3 days a week and offsite
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and a desire to grow into an Associate Creative Director role
